In the story we are presented to two sisters, Rachel and flora, and their mother. It takes place during a day. The mothers birthday, and she has invited the girls to dinner on an expensive restaurant. The appellation refers to a dress Rachel just bought and planned to wear to the dinner. provided Flora has taken the dress and has ruined it.
In the starting line of the story we are presented to Rachel, and everything is from her point of view. Then it changes to Floras point of view. There are also flashbacks to the situation where Flora steals the dress, wearing it and then ruining it. The flashback where we hear about what happened to the dress can be a little confusing, because it is not obvious, when it finishes, however because the present is a conversation between them, and the flashback is narrative you have when it is over.
The two sisters have a very bad relationship. They are talking very nasty to each other. Especially Rachel does not like her sister. It seems like Flora has taken a allot of Rachels things without asking for permission, and then perhaps ruined them.
This eon she has taken the dress, and it makes Rachel very angry, she rummages through Floras means to find it, and the way, she does it, makes the hatred towards Flora very clear. Flora seems a little jealous of Rachel, because she incessantly is better than her. Therefore she believes that the dress is meant for her, not Rachel. It made her chance taller, braver, cleverer, and Rachel was all those things already She uses that as an excuse to taking Rachels things.
