Intro and thesis
In this essay I will utter the reasons why I believe, Socrates is not denying the existence of the old Gods. Plato on with many others, were not protected with nearly as oftentimes freedom of speech as modern philosophers/writers. Instead he utilizes a slick pattern of questioning, through the use of his characters, Socrates and Euthyphro. In this dialogue Socrates makes himself the pupil and makes Euthyphro elaborate on his views and judgments. Plato partially hides his position, entirely certainly promotes philosophical growth. In the paragraphs to follow, I will structuralize separately point, why I believe he was not guilty in denying the existence of the old Gods.
Majority of Athens were tame to believe that what the Gods wanted was what the government also wanted. This made it dense to uphold the standards of Greece without making proclamations of religious disregard. Representatives of Athens and religious leadership were in the same circle. In 6b, Socrates defends the slipperiness of Euthyphro and his father, because the story of superstar with the Gods that much resembled. He protects the Gods sacred conclude, but wants to approach the reasoning on what is different in Euthyphros situation.



Why would Euthyphro be ridiculed for his case against his father, if in that respect was a much similar case amongst the Gods? He follows that the Gods are at odds with each other, and there is discord in agreement. This makes much confusion on how to get hold of their lives in the straight path to success and happiness.
Socrates never mentions Zeus, Uranus, Cronos or any other Gods non-existent in the dialogue of Plato. In 10A, Socrates explores fellowship in question, that what they follow is good just because the Gods follow it. Is the reverent macrocosm loved by the Gods because it is pious, or is it pious because it is being loved by the Gods.
