In reading A Good Man Is unvoiced to Find by Flannery OConnor and Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been? by Joyce carol Oates, the similarities may non seem apparent in the beginning. Connie not only noticed he was precise much older but also that he wore something in his boots to check him look taller. The effect was that it made him walk wary and look comical. His different poses were to impress Connie but, again, they made him look more anomalous than for what they were intended. Background information on Arnold hotshot is not devoted in the story; however one can draw that he is educated. The comments he makes towards her also show him macrocosm machination enough to get information on Connie, her dress hat friend Betty and details of where her family went for the Sunday barbeque and the activities planned for the event.
